The West Chelsea Block Association (WCBA) is a group of volunteer residents and business owners who live in and operate businesses in West Chelsea, from West 25th to West 29th Streets and between 10th and 12th Avenues.

Our mission is to work together with city services and elected officials to resolve neighborhood issues (trash, graffiti, homelessness, etc.) and keep our area clean, safe, and looking beautiful.

Events & Updates

NEIGHBORHOOD
CLEAN-UP

Please join us for our first neighborhood clean-up on
Saturday, June 8, 2024.

We will meet at 10 a.m. at the corner of West 27th and 10th Avenue.

Q2 Update

  • Due to our efforts, Related recently added a bin on the corner of W28th/10th Ave for their commercial tenants.  They’ve also assigned staff to periodically ensure the area is clean.

  • We are going to meet with Related and city reps to prioritize breaking ground on this corner, so the affordable housing planned can finally be completed.

Current Efforts

We are working closely with Related, Con Ed, Erik Bottcher and our city services to address these issues:

Empty lot – Corner of West 28th Street and 10th Avenue

Illegal Dumping and Missing Corner Waste Bins

Homeless structures between 11th and 12th Avenues

Con Ed tree pits on West 28th and West 29th Streets
